English & Spanish ChoirWHAT IS THE ALTAR SOCIETY?Our mission is to provide support to our Pastor focusing on the beautification and maintenance of the altar. St. John The Evangelist Altar Society shall supply, replenish, preserve and maintain the Altar and Sanctuary of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, attend the needs of the Priests in the celebration of Mass in the way of vestments, candles, bread, and wine, maintain the décor and integrity of the Altar and the cleanliness of God’s house.
IS THERE A MEMBERS FEE?Yes! There is members fee of $10.00 per year. St. John The Evangelists Altar Society invites you to become a member of the organization to enjoy fellowship while helping in the ministry of maintaining the altar and providing for the needs of the priest in the celebration of Mass. WHO CAN BE A MEMBER?All married and self-supporting single women 18 years and older may become a member. Any non-Catholic wife of a parishioner wishing to participate is welcome.
WHAT ARE THE STANDING RULES?The attitude that Altar Society members bring to their work is all-important. With sincere devotion of mind and body, they should strive to make their service an acceptable offering to our Lord. Altar Society members will make their Christian witness with quiet rejoicing. Altar Society members make their work a sacred duty, and their acceptance of the priest’s invitation is the indication of their willingness to work under the priest’s directions and guidance. All suggestions and ideas are properly directed to the priest for his consideration, acceptance, or rejection. It is the priest’s responsibility to make final decisions.
