WHAT IS TEEN XODUS?

Teen Xodus is an ongoing vocational teen ministry that is designed and built into the Religious Education Program as a way to help the confirmed and non confirmed teens build a deep intimate relationship with God through a vocational calling. This vocational teen ministry is meant to level up praises to God, grow an understanding of spiritual warfare and give teens the tools needed to discern a vocation in their life. Teen Xodus is designed in a way that will empower teens outside the Religious Education classroom setting to answer God's call. Teen Xodus is not a teen fellowship but an ongoing spiritual faith journey that will catapult teens into an epic relationship with Christ.

Teen Xodus is a spiritual teen vocational program for Teens. It is important that teens are introduced to alternate paths or what we as Catholics understand as a calling in their life. We have all at one point in our life stopped and asked the question: What is my purpose here in this world? This is the question that helps us discover our true purpose in life. The Catechism of The Catholic Church (CCC) teaches us that “We are here on earth in order to know and to love God, to do good according to his will, and to go someday to heaven.” [1-3, 358] (Schoenborn, Christoph Cardinal. Teen Xodus is meant to answer this very question. What is my purpose in this world? The answer is to get to the finish line. We are all in a race to get to one place and that is Heaven! The answer is not to be a tik tok sensation, a successful content creator and influencer, or even one to go viral. But to simply be called to live their lives out for God through their gifts and talents that were granted to them by God. 

So what is Teen Xodus? It is a Vocational Teen Ministry dedicated to building a deep intimate relationship with God through your vocational calling. Many of us hear this word Vocation and think of an Electrician, AC Repair Man, Plumber or Trade School. That is not the Vocation we are talking about here. Some of us might not even know what this word Vocation means. This is a word in today's culture that is seen as not important in our everyday life. This word is not something you would use in a text message, insta post or even on your tik tok. I couldn't see any influencers talking or using this word in their post or doing a dance on this.

Vocation sounds like Vacation but it should definitely not be confused as the same thing. We know Vacation as a getaway or an escape from our everyday life. Vocation is a word we use in the Catholic Church to understand God’s calling for us. Now when you hear the word calling many of us think of Priesthood, Deacon, Sisterhood or some form of religious life. However Vocation is not just about religious life but is really more about you and your purpose here in this world. Vocation is how God is calling you to serve him in the world with the talents and gifts he has given you. Your Vocation is the part you play in God’s big plan and how you are called through your Baptism and Confirmation to serve him in a specific way of life.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Teen Xodus's calling is to challenge teens, parents and guardians to take light into a dark world (Matthew 5:16) and to uproot themselves from a secular lifestyle as they make a choice to follow passionately Jesus Christ and his life-giving teachings (Romans 12:2).

Inspiration (God The Father)
To inspire teens and parents of this generation through God’s word. God’s word breathes life into our lives and spins into motion his living word so that we can passionately go light our world with his love. (Genesis 1) (CCC 101-141)

Knowledge (God The Son)
To deepen the faith and knowledge of teens of this generation by allowing God to become an intimate personal experience through the sacraments. Teens of this culture will learn that the God we are so accustomed to seeing as a distant God is truly an intimate God who is the living word that becomes flesh. This generation will be challenged to receive his teachings on the Sacraments. They will be challenged everyday to deepen their relationship with Christ through the living word. The word of God is the knowing and understanding of God’s Law and Love for humanity through our Sacraments. (John 1:14) (CCC 1210-1211)

Experience (God The Holy Spirit)
To empower this generation of teens to put faith and knowledge into actions by good works. This generation will be challenged by God The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit to live out the charismatic life of Jesus Christ and his Apostles by putting our faith into action. We are
empowered by Christ through the virtue of our baptism and confirmation to not just be faithful but that works must be accompanied by faith in order for it not to be considered dead. (James 2) (CCC 687-693) (CCC 897-900)

CALL TO ACTION

Teen Xodus a Vocational Teen Ministry (Vocational Teen Ministry) calls teens to deepen their faith, believe in the Gospel message and go forth to proclaim the Gospel. The focus of Teen Xodus (Vocational Teen Ministry) calls all Catholic teens to be evangelized and then go forth to evangelize. In a special way, Teen Xodus (Vocational Teen Ministry) is focused on 're-proposing' the Gospel to those who have experienced a crisis of faith. TEEN XODUS VOCATIONAL DIRECTORS

Cristina Pacheco

A wife and a mother of 4 beautiful children with a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies. Cristina is a crucial part to Teen Xodus. Her knowledge and understanding of the Teens not only comes from her Bachelors but from her homeschooling experiences. Her faith and her love for God is undeniably infectious to others who meet her. Her greatest desire is that her kids and other kids that encounter this ministry will be a Light to a very dark world.

Alex Pacheco

A husband and a father of 4 funny and outspoken children whose career and focus is on multimedia marketing​. His knowledge and understanding of Teens not only comes from his experiences in marketing but his many years of youth ministry across the state of Texas. Alex was always involved in youth ministry and his expertise and understanding of the youth of today is essential to Teen Xodus. He believes the youth are the future of the Church!
