DOES MY CHILD NEED TO ATTEND SUNDAY MASS OR SATURDAY VIGIL MASS in order to recieve the sacraments?
Yes. It is the responsibility of the parents to see that their children attend Sunday Mass or the Saturday Vigil Mass and receive an education of their Catholic faith and practices.
WILL MY CHILD NOT BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THEIR SACRAMENTS IF THEY DO NOT ATTEND SUNDAY OR SATURDAY VIGIL MASS?
All parents are empowered by Christ through the virtue of their baptism and confirmation the responsibility to see that their children attend Sunday Mass or the Saturday Vigil Mass. Parents are empowered by God the responsibility for their child to receive an education of their Catholic faith and practices through the parents involvement of their child's faith journey; therefore the Parent will be the one responsible to hinder or prevent their child from receiving God's love through the sacrament of faith.
Will My child be placed in the grade that corresponds to their school?
Yes. Your child will be placed in the grade that corresponds to the grade in their school.
How many Years of Religious eductaion does my child need in order to prepare for the sacraments?
Preparation for the specific sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Eucharist/Holy Communion, and Confirmation requires a two (2) consecutive-school year model with good class attendance and with no more than four (4) absences of missed learning.
WHAT GRADE IS FIRST RECONCILIATION AND FIRST COMMUNION OFFERED?
First Reconciliation and First Eucharist/Holy Communion is offered in 3rd grade.
WHAT GRADE IS CONFIRMATION OFFERED?
Confirmation is offered grades 9th -12th
Do i need to be a registered parishioner of the parish in order for my child to complete their sacraments?
Yes. You must be an active member of the parish. If you are not a registered parishioner of the parish and would like to become an active member please fill out our online parish registration form.
WHAT IF MY CHILD IS IN HIGH SCHOOL AND HAS NOT RECIEVED THEIR BAPTISM, FIRST RECONCILIATION OR FIRST COMMUNION?
What ever the reason is that your child has not received the Sacraments, we want to let all parents know that our parish community is extremely supportive of parents who have been called by God to pursue the Sacraments of the Faith for their child. Our parish has an RE Coordinator that will walk you through every way of this process with patience, compassion and understanding. DO YOU WORK WITH HOMESCHOOL FAMILES in receiving the sacraments?
Yes. We do our best to accommodate the homeschool community. We know and understand the dynamics of the Domestic Church and enjoy working with homeschool families. Whether you are a family already incorporating CCD into your homeschool curriculums or if you're a family who is looking for a CCD program for your child to get involved in.
